Meet Emily!
My name is Emily Marie, I am the owner and photographer for EMG Photography. I was born in Illinois, and moved to Arizona when I was five, so AZ is definitely my home. I grew up in the smaller suburb of San Tan Valley, where my hobby became Competitive Cheerleading. Prior to photography I coached cheer and gymnastics for a little over 10 years, which is definitely where I get my fun & VIBRANT energy from. I know that besides my photos, the biggest asset I bring to each of my clients is my personality and the ability to make everyone feel comfortable & confident in front of the camera, all while having fun. When booking with me you know you'll be met at your session with an enthusiastic photographer who is excited to best serve you from beginning to end.
How I Got Started...
I was always intrigued when it came to photography, and in high school my parents gifted me my first starter camera! I didn't really know much about photography, except I loved to take photos. Since I was in competitive cheer I started off taking photos of the teams we had during competition. Sadly out of high school I broke my camera on accident and didn't purchase another one. Flash forward to 2019 and I had been talking to my boyfriend at the time, that I wanted to get back into photography. That Christmas, Drew gifted me my first mirrorless camera. Im not sure I would've ever started this business had it not been for Drew pushing me towards my dreams and aspirations. But he did, and soon after I trademarked EMG Photography and began my business. I am SO glad that I did. I truly love what I do, and couldn't imagine doing anything else full time.
Family
Family has always been important to me! I grew up as an only child, so I am very close to my parents. They live only 20 minutes from me. Also, I have my wonderful fiancé Drew, we've been together almost 4 years now and we will be getting married in 2024! He is my best friend & my biggest supporter.
Holli
Our sweet girl Holli is Drew & I's first dog together. Holli was re-homed with us from an elderly couple in Nevada. We drove to pick her up and brought her home where she now lives the lap of luxury. Most people think she's a schnauzer but she's actually a Wire Fox Terrier. Which is why she is extremely high energy, with a crazy fun personality. Such a cute love bug!
Fun Facts
-I absolutely love everything leopard & or cheetah print! My obsession started when The Cheetah Girls came out in middle school and it's never gone away. Haha!
-I have a sweet tooth but especially for ICE CREAM. I will never turn down a Dairy Queen trip.
-I love Minnesota, I used to spend my entire summer vacations there as a kid and its one of my favorite places.
